Bit late in the day but this afternoon when leaving Tesco's car park i noticed a spaniel left sitting on the back parcel shelf of its owners car really hot and panting fast, the owner had only slightly opened a back window which to be honest isnt really going to help, the tempreture inside a parked car is bloody hot and it was today !!! I was going to re-park and via Tesco tanoy get an anouncement for the owners to come see to their dog which was struggling and i wasnt the only person to notice, luckly as i was driving around i saw which must of been the owners with shopping get to the car.
Whats makes me mad is why are people leaving their dogs in hot cars, i know its March but its hot weather that we dont usually have and its always hotter inside a parked car even when just poping into Tesco.
Please people dont leave your dog in the car especially when the weather is warm and hot like this, perhaps get them out of the car and attached them by theit leads to wait ouside Tesco or dont take your dog shopping !!!!

Well said AL think this hot weather has taken us all by surprise.
Not wanting to be causing alarm but could i just add to that, do not leave a baby or young child in your car either just to pop in a shop or whatever, its surprising how many people i have seen do this. Dont beat thinking about the consequenses as i have read in the news in previous years of this happening and passers by having to smash windows to reach and release them !!!!

I went back into Tesco's to get them to put out an announcement about someone's dog in distress a couple of years ago. The staff were were very concerned and quick to act, the owners not so quick to respond.
It's a shame that the construction of the porch at Tesco no longer permits people to tie their dogs up where the security man can keep an eye on them, but I'd rather my dog was stolen than roasted.
