Dodgy Dentists

I went to an NHS dentist a few years ago, but stopped going as they didn't seem to know what they were doing. My wife said that I was being sexist and made an appointment with the same dentist.
A year later, my wife had a dodgy filling by her dentist and after a couple of months of discomfort, she went back. The dentist claimed that her jaw was misaligned and offered to correct it, but actually buggered it up for good. I have since heard other horror stories about this dentist and wonder what should be done. Can you recommend any alternatives?

Stop Whinging Expat! I have to pay privately. A check up costs me aprox £37... dunno what that is in NZ rupees.
If a filing falls out you don't tend to race and get it replaced.

Uncivilised? Is a rupee sign not more civilised than a pound sign?
