Our opening night we will be premiering the acclaimed creative moving picture from Dutch director Frans van der Haagen: "Beyond the Swallows".
This motion picture, filmed exclusively in sepia, explores the life of a young bi-curious man in 1890s Rotterdam. His touching story is conveyed purely through the medium of mime, with accompanying music from van der Haagen's own family string quartet.
Join us for a creative journey, tickets only £28.50. First screening at 10pm on 31st May. Free vegan goats milk and pitta with hummus for the first 50 guests.

See you there,

The Depot.

Oh dear, Lewes Cinema has the hump (again). Bitter?

This would be funny if:

1) Depot screenings did not range far and wide. For instance, Logan?
2) The Depot tickets were not cheaper than any other comparable outlet

The endless petulant sniping between the cinemas is going to be as entertaining as Bonfire.

Thing is, Lewes Cinema's set up at the All Saints was horrible. The sound was so bad you needed subtitles, the picture was barely in focus and the seats uncomfortable.

Cinema-wise it's all been pretty poor in Lewes in recent years. Village hall type stuff.

The thing is that from this weekend we have a real cinema. And not just a real cinema but a cinema in a beautiful building with great facilities and state of the art sound and picture technology, the best technology for any cinema outside of London. Get that? This is not your average stuff. This is a league beyond.

It really is quite something. Check it out this weekend.

And that is exactly why this was a promo for the Depot. We are now the one and only Lewes Cinema worth talking about.

@Lewes Cinema.

You started the thread... with an inaccurate piss-take of the Depot. What did you expect to come of it?

Lewes cinema - just go away. If you truly loved film you would welcome The Depot which will be able to provide the people of Lewes a far better experience of the wonders of cinema than you ever could.
