Can anyone advise what the cycle storage facilities are like at Lewes station? Is there space to lock up there early weekday morning? Anyone ever had a bike nicked?

The bike shed and racks next to and on platform 1 (car park entrance) are pretty good. By 8am the bike shed is usually full, but there's nearly always space in the racks on platform 1. There's good cctv coverage there and I've not heard of /experienced bike theft there.
There's additional bike parking on platform 3 but that's a bit more of a hassle to get to.

I have used the racks on platform 3 for years. I've never had a problem but my ASDA £69.95 bike is probably not worth the hassle of nicking.

Southern Rail need to put more covered bike shelters up. I don't like getting on a wet saddle. Who does?

Perhaps someone who has the foresight to have a tissue on them or even God forbid brush the water off with their hand?
I just love the Lewes "I won't take any personal responsibility" culture - yes, all Southern Railway's fault, you poor bunny.

Not very helpful Wet Wipe. Try a carrier bag ADT....and a tissue would also be handy !

Wet wipe you are obviously a total and utter numpty. Or a troll.
As DFL says, I sometimes put a carrier bag over the saddle, but they often disappear in the wind by the end of the day (creating more litter btw). Some bikes have absorbent saddles - stupid idea - and they never get dry, especially in the wonderful sealed environment of a plastic bag.
More importantly, if you leave your bike out in the rain, it is going to start to rust, seize up, corrode and die.
My point is if they can afford to put one bike shelter up, why not a couple more? There's plenty of room. At Hayward's Heath there are really large shelters.
"Poor bunny". What a pratt.

The bike rack I use on platform 3 is under cover.
