Cycle accident in the Pells

Does anybody know what became of the cyclist that hit a car at the bottom of St John's Hill week before last?....his bike is still chained to a nearby lamp column?...he got taken off in an ambulance on the day and looked in a pretty poor state. Bikes whizz down there all the time and I'm surprised there aren't more accidents to be honest!

That's sad, let's hope they are recovering well. Cyclists and drivers need to look out for each other all the time. On that note, thanks to the drivers who sensibly leave space near the kerb going up to the prison from Houndean. The road there is one of the worst in Lewes and it's horrific to cycle as you get thrown all over the place so the space is appreciated by this high vis wearing two wheeler (who never jumps a red light and always signals but will no doubt get abuse anyway just for being a cyclist).

Agree with 'erbert. The prison road is horrific, even the attempts they've made to patch it up are lumpy, bumpy and dangerous. When cycling out of town (and downhill) it's lethal, soon someone is going to get bumped out in front of a car and it won't be the driver or cyclists fault...

I agree with Herbert and 'erbert – the prison road is so dangerous for cyclists. To my mind, it is so dopey that such a major cycle path which connects Lewes to Brighton ends before one of the busiest junctions in Lewes. The road surface is so poor and it is too narrow. I say that as both a cyclist and a driver. It definitely needs to be sorted before someone gets hurt.

His name changed from Gerry Dorsey to Engelbert Humperdinck. I mean, I just wanted to be in the room when they were working that one through: "Zingelbert Bembledack! Yingybert Dambleban! Zangelbert Bingledack! Wingelbert Humptyback! … Slut Bunwalla!" "What?!" "All right, Kringelbert Fishtybuns! Steviebuns Bottrittrundle –" "No, Gerry Dorsey! I like Gerry Dorsey!"
