I had to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, eat a lump of cold poison, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill, and pay mill owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our Dad would kill us, and dance about on our graves singing "Hallelujah."

But you try and tell the young people today that... and they won't believe you.

Thank you Brother John.
After shopping in Tesco's, Lidl and Waitrose for sometime, Waitrose seems to be the worst for selling produce with only a day to go before the items 'Sell by Date' has nearly run out.
Selling things like Milk and Bread with only a day to go before their sell by date has run out are the items that most drive me crazy.

An evening rarely goes by without ANOTHER Channel 5 programme about the importance of looking down on the most disadvantaged in our society. Tonight I think it's called 'Scrounger St'. The actual Enemies of the Public are the ones who produce the programmes.

I am a single mum with 6 kids by 6 different fathers. I got a council house, fridge, cooker and mobile phone, because that's my right. Everyone pays for me and my kids, my house and the most important thing I need, a mobile phone. The kids wreck the garden, and I forgot that we have 2 dogs that bark and crap everywhere. Has this got us back onto the original thread?

Yeah, I somehow imagine that the pandemic has not been much of a great "leveler" for those poorest in our society. :( more
