Let's hope that when it does, they don't employ the same interns who bombarded Lewes Forum with fake posts saying how wonderful Aqua was.

Err they weren't fake. And I think you mean how wonderful aqua is!

I remember years ago there was a 'Lewes Resident' who used to appear here regularly telling us how wonderful Charles Style's 'North Street Quarter' development was going to be. i wonder if they are by any chance related?

Yes, he called himself 'Local' and claimed that he'd lived hear all his life. The moment the decision was made, he disappeared, never to be heard of again.

I emailed Cote HQ. Answer, opening sometime this summer. Companies like this will turn that building round very quickly. Having bought it - at auction - they will want a return on their money asap. Expect it open before end of August for sure.

Yes exactly - once they send their teams in they will hopefully get cracking. I would also think they will want some summer trade. Really hope it is soon - Lewes needs a good restaurant - and before all you Aqua supporters come out in force, I know lots of people who do not rate it at all - so hurry up Cote! And no Clifford, I am not the same Lewes Resident - just someone who has lived here for many years and seen good restaurants disappear and, sadly, nothing replaces them.

Cote is as close to being a decent restaurant as Aqua or the other chains are.
The principal problem is that there is no proper buy-in from the staff, as it's just another formulaic prepare-by-numbers place, as opposed to somewhere that a proper chef or chef-patron writes interesting seasonal menus as the months pass.

All heated up on the premises and prepared in a factory miles away. Don't need to pay high Chefs salaries, just catering students on minimum money. Same as Bills, after all it's the same group.

Yes. Expensive and quite soul-destroying, really.
