Essentially flood an area with your brand. Undercut everyone until independents disappear. Then let your own branches compete until only one or two are left with a monopoly. Hence the term, 'cannibalistic'.
It DOES matter mr Sensitive, because 1. I hate Costa. 2. Independents tend to keep money local. 3. Do we want Lewes all chains.
Some are inevitable, but not every shop.
