Tried Cook, 7 Cliffe High Street, Indian selection of frozen food recently for the first time, as an alternative to a take-away.... we were absolutely delighted with the quality and decided to leave a comment here, also for the first time! The dishes tasted exceptionally fresh and we could tell that the flavours were achieved by the use of quality spices and herbs. Cannot recommend more highly. Also good value for the size of the portions ....

That's interesting, every time I try stuff from there it's often too salty.
Good selection though but it's a shame they don't sell wine

Over priced over salted laden with God knows what - load of rubbish
Can't any of you cook?

And/or too tight to find a local restaurant with edible food (not that easy I grant you)

Oh Daisy, is this a discreet way of telling us that sales have been falling at Cook and someone has been instructed to try some not very subtle 'marketing' on Lewes Forum? If I hadn't already decided the place has nothing to offer me you have.

Good place to get inspiration. Many a time I've nipped in there for ideas, bought the ingredients and made it myself.
There isn't much in there that requires a huge amount of skill to re-create in your own kithcen.

Google Indian recipes and find some wonderful meals to make yourself. Very authentic and not difficult once you get the ingredients and put in a little time. Very satisfying.

As someone who can't be arsed to make it myself, I'm a big fan of Cook as an occasional treat (can't afford it regularly). The food is genuinely gorgeous - much nicer than any supermarket warm-ups - but one of the people who works there can be a bit moody and gives the impression they'd be happier somewhere else. As an ex-shop-worker I sympathise, but part of the job is to put on a smile for the punters.
