Well done those 3206 people who stood by Jeremy Corbyn in the Lewes constituency, knowing that their votes would almost certainly help Caulfield to get re-elected. I do hope you are enjoying the last moments of Corbynism, and that the next five years are to your liking.

The only political enjoyment to be had over the next few years will be the Labour Party / Momentum finding ways to blame everyone but themselves.
Of course, coming a close second will be watching the Tory party downgrade the promised 40 new hospitals, 30,000 more nurses, 20,000 more police officers and £7bn for education to be free blankets for people on floors in A&E, 2,000 more NHS managers, 50 special constables and a guarantee of at least one desk for every three pupils in state education.

Indeed Congratulations to Maria Caulfield but this would not have happened if Farage had not pulled out 'his' Brexit Candidate for Lewes. I expected that she would be back in her nurse's uniform by Christmas but Farage has given her a 5 year juicy monthly salary slip. I am OK with this provided she completely disengages with the despicable Rees- Mogg ERG shower and continues to do her best for the Constituency,

She does her best already, Phfellow. In addition to being a practically full-time MP, Maria Caulfield also still works part-time on night shifts as a nurse, in order to keep up with her qualifications and help the overstretched NHS.
Nigel Farage has done the sensible thing, by withdrawing his candidates from Conservative seats; knowing that they are the only party capable and inclined to see Brexit through. And it has paid off!

Does she? From where I'm standing they have been given absolute free reign to do whatever they want, including going back on all their "promises" in the campaign. Who's going to stop them? There is effectively no opposition now.
If you think Brexit is going to be "done" (whatever that's supposed to mean) inside five years you're going to be disappointed. It's all deception. And we've learnt today that deception is now rewarded en masse by the population so I think we probably deserve the hell we've created for ourselves.

Well she is obliged to work 450 hours every 3 years. Otherwise, her registration will lapse and she loses the opportunity to play the "I'm one of the nurturing angels" card. We've had 10 years of cruel austerity. People dying on the streets. During this period national debt has more than doubled. Austerity was a spectacular failure and the economy continued to contract. Boris is aware that he's lying when he makes extravagant spending pledges - "because the hard work is done". Nothing that he has promised can happen. It's not possible. Maybe if he ended corporate tax evasion? However, he won't do that. He needs to have those companies on side to fund the next election victory. He has contempt for you and me. He's laughing all the way to his fat, do-nothing jobs as a non-executive director on the board's of some of those companies. The future is bleak.

If get Brexit done means get the withdrawal agreement signed, that will happen. But that just gets us to the transition period. It's just the beginning. Expect savage cuts to public services and tax cuts for people on higher incomes.

Mark, my earlier comment was about perception. If you perceive something to be that way, then to the perceiver, it is true. In a way, I think that is what happened to the Labour Party. Trouble is, it wasn’t and to win elections you need to appeal to more than a minority.

My important underlying theme was that the Conservative Lewes MP for the next 5 years departs from her ultra right wing pursuits and association with the odious ERG mafia and begins to recognise that not all 'her' constituency sing from the same hymn sheet! Her reduced majority this week must have sent her this message.

Immediately the elected Prime Minister returned to Downing Street after Her Majesty invited him to form a government, he should have (by statutory instrument) withdrawn the BBC's licence to broadcast, dissolved its entire structure, and instructed the Army to pulverise all its premises, archives and supplies. We the people do not need outdated socialist censors to stand between us and those whom we have chosen as our government. I am fed up with hearing "analysis". Government is about doing the job, and Conservatives like us will no longer stand for "but" and "if" being asked by unqualified people.
