Hello all! I noticed that there is a coding club that runs at the library on Wednesdays - unfortunately work means I can't make this - does anyone know if any other local clubs? Alternately would anyone be willing to teach me? Any suggestions will be welcomed with arms wide open!!

Depends what you want to learn really. The Library one looks like it teaches Scratch. If so get your hands on a raspberry pi and start playing around.
If you want to learn web languages have a look at CodeAcademy - good starting point for beginners and you can teach yourself.
Or there is CodeSchool - They use a similar principle to CodeAcademy but you have to pay for a lot of it. However, they do also have 'courses' for iOS apps and .Net.
What are you looking for really? There's a wealth of information on the interwebs. Also, when you get stuck you can get a lot of help at StackOverflow
