Community Right To Bid

Got a Post Office, Pub, Village Hall, Library or Park near you that you don't want to lose? Help save it for you and the neighbourhood with the Community Right To Bid. This piece of government legislation gives people living in England the chance to identify buildings or land that have importance to their social wellbeing. Such places can then be put on a register, which must be consulted ahead of planning applications. If proposals are made, the community is given six months to buy and protect it. More than 350 have been listed so far. Visit mycommunityrights.org.uk

Been done for Ringmer as part of their Neighbourhood Plan. See appendix 8.2 of the online Ringmer Neighbourhood Plan.
The Ringmer Community Assets Register includes the Anchor and the Green Man.
Planning minister Nick Boles recommends that such a register should be included in Neighbourhood Plans.
