Hanover Homes presented their scheme for Chandlers Land including:
Good Points
Almost Carbon Neutral
No new vehicular access routes
Riverside walk
Slipway
Land decontamination
Speeding up flood defence work maybe

Bad Points
A 4 storey block of flats to block views and overlook
Roof gardens noisy
Pedestrian access to Morris Road
Noisy restaurant
Only space for 20 cars - get real

They should replace the restaurant with more homes and lose 2 storeys off the block of flats

It seems that it may well be a possibility. However it depends upon cash and section 106.

Cash - that will pose no problem to the developers as people wishing to move to Lewes are willing to pay over the odds for property - not that that helps the people of Lewes!
Section 106 - not worth anything as the planning and building control depts will manipulate to their advantage.
So how many properties and businesses are proposed for this site?
