Chrome problem

Webbo, the past few days I've been encountering a problem with the Forum website. I open it in a new tab in Chrome (current version, on Win 10), the CPU utilization for that tab's instance of Chrome goes up to 25-40% and stays there, the laptop fan kicks in and the page freezes or responds to scrolling only with long delays. It's consistent.

This is sometimes caused by the google ads on the right hand side not loading properly.
Try clicking the little arrow, top tight of each ad to opt out of it and see if that helps

Also applies to Opera, site is unusable. In fact, this site really only works in Explorer or on mobile.
It's not the ads because I have AdBlock installed.

Try clearing your cache too, that works on Safari.

Yes, I've had the problem with Chrome too for several weeks - freezes, long delays in scrolling or going to a post. (NB I have AdBlock enabled) It's mainly fine in Firefox. Laptop with Windows 10. All other sites fine. Strange!

Thanks Webbo. I see no little arrows, and I have no idea which ads are Goggle's and which yours (or others). It only seems to happen on the Forum home page: individual threads work fine when I open them.

I'm using Chrome but on a Mac, and the forum's running very smoothly.

I use Chrome on Windows and on various Android devices and have never experienced these problems and in fact the forum seems to be running better than ever now.

I'd agree that clearing your lewes.co.uk cooking might be a good idea.
