Hi all,
My partner and I are looking for a good cheap wedding reception venue for us and about 50 guests.
Ideally we'd like to bring our own food and drink and not pay a bomb for rental. Any ideas in and around Lewes/Glynde area would be greatly appreciated!

Lewes Rugby Club hire out their function room, can do your own food and they provide a bar for a very reasonable price. Contact Rob Williams

Malling Community Centre is good because the kids have a playground outside. It's fairly cheap I think. I have been to several receptions there and people have made it look great inside on the day despite it being a fairly basic building.
Vicars will tell you that those who spend less on weddings tend to have happier marriages, probably because debt is a real downer.

Of the venues above the new Barcombe Village Hall is by some distance the nicest, and has a spectacular setting. I take it none of the guests will be arriving by public transport?

My friend had her reception at Barcombe village hall. Beautiful setting but felt very sorry for Bride & Groom as hardly anyone turned up due to it being a drive only venue. No-one wanted to drive to/from there and not be able to have a drink at a wedding reception. Impossible to get there other than by car.
