Saw the Charleston Xmas event advertised and thought it could be a nice morning mooching around some art and craft stalls, maybe pick up a few pressies. Well, what an absolute huge disappointment. Parking was chaos - it took us 20 mins just to get parked (too many idiotic drivers) and then when we ventured inside to the so-called fair, there was about 10 stalls selling hugely overpriced 'craft' (crochet brooch - £25!!!!), packed with wet soggy people, none of whom were buying anything.
The best thing was the three very sweet reindeer, but no sense of Christmas, or fun, or festivities. But it's a real shame as so many people turned up.
To cap this miserable morning, I thought I'd go to the antiques fair at the town hall. Arrived at 3pm to find all the traders packing up and half left already - so what's the point of the 4pm advertised finish ? No wonder business is bad ! Grrrrrr.
OKay - rant over.

Love the open invitation! It's great to see a space where people can freely share their thoughts. Looking forward to hearing... more
QUOTE OF THE MOMENT
If you lend someone £20 and don't see them again it was probably worth it.
