Do you own/recognise this cat? She was found at Malling, trying to get into my friends house. She's extremely skinny and disheveled.
Unfortunately, she is not micro-chipped, but Cliff Vets are kindly looking after her until her owner claims her. She is extremely poorly with an overactive thyroid and heart disease.
If nobody claims her, she will be euthanised :-(

Is she going to be euthanised because of her health? If she's savable I can offer her a home as we've just had to have one of ours euthanised due to cancer.

Concerned, please get in touch with Cliffe Vets. They are assessing her to see how well she responds to medication. I took her there this afternoon.
Both of her ailments can be treated with tablets, but it depends how advanced they are. She does have a lot of chest fluid due to her heart disease, they are giving her meds to dispel it.
She is such a sweet cat.

I'll ring them in the morning. I'm just a bit worried that my other two, who are extremely spoiled, may make her life difficult if she is poorly. But I'll see what the vets day.

Just rung Cliffe vets. They have to keep her for 10 days to see if her owner turns up. Also she is elderly and V poorly so they need to see if she responds to treatment. They think she will be unable to stand up for herself so would be better off without younger cats who will probably bully her, cats not being known for their socialist instincts. Cliffe are going to contact me in a few days to tell me what the situation is. Anyone out there who can offer her a quieter home than ours?

Sadly my two cats have a deep seated hatred for all other living creatures otherwise I'd have her. I hope someone can help though, poor thing.

The owner has now claimed the cat - the cat is already being treated by the owner's own vet for the health problems.

A happy ending. But if only everyone had their cat microchipped, all this kerfuffle and heartache would have been saved. And good people like Concerned would not have got their hopes up.

If the cat had been given regular medication by its owner, it would have not been in such a state that euthanasia was an serious option.
