Carpet moths

We are inundated and have had 2 carpets ruined. Treatment doesn't seem to work as they are still flying around and presumably eating what is left of my carpet. Anyone else had them and any tips on getting rid of them or is this the end for woollen carpets?

Hoover, hoover, hoover into every corner and keep an eagle out for those little eggs. It's the only way I've found to keep them down. (Unfortunately I haven't managed to eliminate them completely.)

Take your carpet and underlay up.
Next take it outside and burn it.
Next, take up your floorboards and chuck them on the fire with the carpet.
Empty all your wardrobes and add contents to the growing bonfire.
Seriously, even if you go down that route they will still be there!
The only sure way is complete fumigation by a specialist. Donít waste time and money on sprays and powders. Good luck, Iíve been there!

You may have to live with bare floorboards for a few months, to break the moths life cycle..
They particularly like wood, so youíre going to have to consider synthetic carpets. Remove completely and underlay. Spray boards. Hoover frequently before even considering investing in new carpet, nightmare.
