To keep XFactor's latest victim from being Christmas number 1 we are buying "Killing In the Name" by Rage Against The Machine. If you like real music or hate XFactor, or both or if you just think Simon Cowell is a smug git who could do with being taken down a peg or two then please join us and buy Killing In The Name from ITunes, Amazon, Tesco Online or Play. It will cost you less than a pound and could bring a smile to every music lovers face this christmas.

Or if you like music you could buy something you like instead of following one fashion or another.

Exactly Bunter. Buy what YOU like. The charts are meaningless now anyway so who cares. True music fans won't be swayed by some stupid facebook campaign or by X factor.

Just to put this in (my personal) context: Yes, I do understand that both RATM and that shiny plastic Geordie midget are both signed to Sony. I understand that Cowell benefits from the sale of both. No, I don't think the charts matter.
I already own RATM on CD (someone gave it me years ago) and I don't really like it much so I don't listen to it. But I've still bought the song again a couple of times on Amazon (29p a go). I don't think it's a particularly world-changing gesture and I acknowledge that the money would be better used by a charity to house the homeless or feed the starving or some such. But at the end of the day, f**k it, for less than a quid it's an enjoyably childish act in endeavouring to b0llocks up the start of that godawful cruise ship crooner's potentially brief career.

I've always liked RATM and bought this back in 1992. I've bought it again as this is a bit of a wheeze! I have no problem with the young sunderland karaoke singer I'm sure he's a nice northern lad. What I don't like is the great mogul and the huge machine that is behind (and all over him) Poor lad prob. can't blow his nose now without asking. I bet he's already looking fwd to next years pantomime season and celeb big bro in 2013 when we've all forgotten him. Ah bless...
Happy Xmas all or should I say happy holiday in these PC times.
