What species are flittering around malling? I've not seen one in the wallands area. I've been watching out for cabbage whites with a view to netting my brassicas and not one has appeared.

Plenty of Butterflies around if you know where to look for them. The problem is, our weather at the moment is so up and down....one week it's hot and sunny, next it's cool and wet so some of the species never get the chance to really get going.
Last years hot spell brought them out in their droves and I counted 5 new species i've never seen in the garden before.
This year, I've seen the usual early varieties such as brimstone, orange tip and comma and now starting to see a few common blues, small blues, meadow browns and speckled woods. Had the pleasure of a lovely painted lady in my parents garden in Ringmer the other day too.
They are there, just need a few weeks of warm, settled weather to bring them out.

Still none up here, no skylarks over the racehill or swallows and martins.

And where are the wasps?
I saw a hedgehog the other night, the first one Iíve seen in years.

Is the mass extinction happening already?

Is this one of the truths the government arenít telling us that Extinction Rebellion are on about?
