What do you think of the increased bus fares? I used to pay 2.60 for a 10 k stretch return, now 3.60.
It is just not right!
They should encourage public transport instead!

The price of fuel diesel has actually gone down ? Buses and taxis should be cheaper now !

The Nevill bus has had a timetable change and service cut. I used it a lot after work as it was convenient. Now it's a 40 minute wait and £2 single. No thanks. I'll walk.

E Sussex County Council are pursuing the same policy as all Tory shires. Cut the service until it becomes so poor and inconvenient that passenger numbers fall so far that it can say that their is insufficient demand and then cut many routes altogether.

I think you're right, SG.
Soon, the only people who can afford to get a bus will be the people with free bus passes.

Sorry, but you are all out of order here. Someone has to pay for the cost of these vehicles, drivers' wages, etc. The cost of diesel is only a small part.
You should be thanking all those people who have cars, and pay heavy taxes to subsidise public transport. Try taking a taxi from the town to the prison- probably much more than £1.20!

Englishes, don't neglect the fact that a bus can carry more than one person!

Yes, Mark- they can- so why do not more people use them?
apart from those who are too young or too old to drive, nobody wants to use a tacky modern bus out of choice.
I have followed many near-empty buses around parts of Sussex; next to women riding horses and hobby cyclists they are the third most cause of congestion on the roads.
But we must be "green" and travel by bus. I wonder how often Rosalyn St.Pierre actually uses one?
