So sad to see the back of the best pizza in town. Just shows how shallow people inherently prefer chain restaurants over local, family run businesses - hideously selfish. Paints a pretty bleak picture of the once 'lucrative' Lewes high street that has now been overpowered by prostitutes of the corporate world. Just feel so sad. Needed to vent.

Who'd a thought "Bus Club" meant Pizza ? It's all in the name and marketing !! And location naturally.

Shame. Was good to have somewhere to eat where everything wasn't plastered with a corporate logo. Excellent pizza, friendly staff.

I can think of a couple of independent pizza places in out of the way parts of Brighton that are very successful. To name one very good one - Pizza Face. I suspect it's closure might have more to it then just people eating in chains.

Agree. Great staff, which is what made it. Shame for the staff. Someone ought to snap up the bloke who serves the coffee. Best customer service ever.

@Bert, I see the point you’re trying to make but to name a few, Franco Manca, Dominos, Fatto A Mano, Basilico are all doing pretty well.. I didn’t cynically go hunting for names either

Is the area not being redeveloped?, is this why it closed?. Shame there are no affordable properties left in Lewes for a small business like this to continue trading......

rosewait how is it 'hideously selfish' to patronise one outlet over another? Is there some obligation? I suppose you are 'offended' too.

The new owners bought it to give their son something t do but he was useless, never talked to the customers and was too lazy to run a business. The staff however were all great and I wish they would take it over and rename it. My favourite coffee in town and the bread was great as good as flint easily and half the price. Such a shame.
