Is it normal to ask a builder to do a quote which they promise to send you by the end of the week and then get no response to calls and emails chasing it up?
Is it really too much to ask to get a reply even if its to say we're too busy / we don't want the job / the vans broken down ?
Just a little common courtesy would go a long way. This happens time and time again and it's often trades that advertise in Viva Lewes and who's vans you quite often see around town.

If it's a small business, with no secretarial staff, the paperwork often gets left to the weekend. However in this case I'm pretty sure they don't want the job. This just happened to me too. I wanted to get three estimates so called three Checkatrade numbers. One said i'll call you back, and hasn't. The two others were fine. And make sure you get written or emailed quotes too, including VAT. But nothing is guaranteed. There's a lot of crooks out there.
