I'm sure you know this, but just in case, be aware that due to insane house prices, stamp duty, and so on, more people than ever are having extensions built.
Good builders will be busy – my “tame” one has got jobs booked until next spring.
If you get anyone show up and say they can start next Wednesday, be cautious. Saying that – good luck, lots of disruption, but worth it.

Thanks planner. Don't suppose you'd give me details of your 'tame' builder? Next spring would be better than nothing.

Google St James Builders Lewes. Very reliable, fair price and a good quality job. You'll have to go be patient though as they tend to be busy!

Sorry, he's from Brighton and only comes into Lewes as a favour as he did a lot of work for family members. Best of luck though.

St James' building, Mill Rd Lewes.
Danny built my 3x6M kitchen extension in Stansfield Rd.
Southern water and building control caused absolute havoc by throwing up every problem they possibly could.
Builds never go to plan but Danny and his team were amazing and dealt with it with ease.
He's an honest builder and one you might have to wait for due to his demand.
He wasn't the cheapest quote as he won't use inferior products and he came in on budget. Others quoted low to get the work but I followed my gut instinct and waited, very glad I did.
I really can't understate how good he and his workers were.

We used Abode from Newick for a garage conversion - they were good, small firm.
