Does anyone in Lewes have higher speed BB (i.e. BT Infinity or equivalent, delivered by Fibre To The Cabinet (FTTC)?
Looking at various sites (Thinkbroadband, BT Openreach and others) I get conflicting messages about the status of its implementation in the town, but all the service providers (BT, Sky, Zen etc) say there's no date to implement it yet.
How it appears is that the exchange (Market St) is enabled but none of the cabinets is, yet I see new ADSLAM cabinets around the town.

I have had BT Infinity for a year or so. I believe my cabinet is the one at the top of Station Street, outside Martin's.

I have sky fibre BB in Nevill. The whole estate is enabled. Can't fault the service.

Yes I have it too. I'm on the High Street just off Market Street. Excellent service with speeds consistently around 40mb/s.

Southover/St Pancras Rd has it - I was promised 38mbps and get about 45mbps (with 8-10mbps upload which matters for me) through the Utility Warehouse.

Old Malling Way, BT Openreach box at end of road. BT Infinity2, 64meg down and 18 meg up. Running a sole trader business on this very happily.

Thanks for all your replies.
Horseman7, do you mean the box at the bottom of the steps where Church Lane turns into Old Malling Way? I believe that's mine as well.

Is there a map of cabinets anywhere?
I'm just off spence's Lane and wouldn't have a clue where my cabinet would be?

I believe BT Openreach like to keep that kind of information to themselves, box.spotter. I only found out where my cabinet was because, after BT Retail had mucked me about for several months, the engineer let slip that he was heading up Station Street to activate the line.

Xplorer1, I think it's the one slightly further west, on the opposite side, well back on the wide verge and almost hidden in the trees. When BT originally invited subscribers to "vote for Infinity in your town", I did just that, only to be told Lewes was well off the radar. Shortly afterwards I came across Open Reach installing said box and the engineers told me it was the first one in Lewes, before the town centre, because the old biddy at (my house number) Old Malling Way had asked for it, namely me. My flabber was duly ghasted.

Thanks Horseman7. I voted too: you must have some guardian angel in BT. I shall pursue them as best I can.

Thanks Cliffe hanger. Useful link for identifying cabinet no.s and published speeds. Sadly still dsl to 9mbps is listed.
I shall also be contacting the bt angels

box.spotter, we're just off Spences Lane too and can't get fibre here. I think our box might be the one on Malling Street, at least that's the way the engineers drove off when we had our phone line activated when we moved in a couple of years ago.
