Was it me or did their procession seem really small this year compared to others?

We've got new members that have replaced the cry babies that left so our numbers are about the same as last year. I think that our visiting societies didn't turn up with as many as expected.

Borough obviously go for quality rather than quantity. What really does say it all is that you are so concerned by size.

No, I don't care how small or big my society is, I just don't agree with how borough have been, and having a go at phoenix, just because they've stood up to a society they no longer agree with. I bet your a dfl...

@ ! Borough DO NOT have a problem with the Phoenix and nor does the majority family of the society!! The problem is been made by only a couple of individuals in the Borough and Phonenix who are determined to cause trouble. Enough is enough! So what if the Borough isn't as big as the other societies, no difference this year from last year. The fifth went by without any trouble between the two groups and Bonfire night is over with for this year. Last years problems were dealt with and a full apology was made. Let's just all move on now!

I understand that, but its always the minority that ruin it for everyone :/ I don't care how small or big societies are, I'd march on my own! Every society has the freedom to do whatever, last year was last year yes I agree time to move on, but tell those members to sort it out and stop putting a downer and damper on bonfire. Society rivalry is petty, we should all support each other, after all we all celebrate exactly the same thing boroughs tab was fab

Borough was most definitely smaller than last year, the small amount of people that left have been replaced, and then some, the newbies have really enjoyed getting involved with fund raising and torch making/dipping, tab making etc. Borough will only grow and grow now.
Phoenix weren't in Zulu, that's all we wanted and we respect that, everyone had a good night, roll on next year :-D

Just a note that although NOT down on membership some Societies were down on numbers on the night! This tends to happen when the weather man, or indeed lady gets it wrong! It's always been the same!

You've changed your tune Burd. Or is that because you were asked to? Or because you will need all your friends to get you around now? I salute all the work you do in the run up to Bonfire. I do. But your past posts on here have been vile and attackful. It wasn't really anything to do with Pheonix wearing Zulu was it now? I think you'll find a lot know better. BUT on a positive note, every single person who took part in the procession looked great, acted sensibly (we all like bangs), even the Pheonix (they wouldn't bother with bonfire if not) and deserve a good slap on the back for the show that was put on for us spectators. It was a great night, packed, dry and the fireworks were great too. Well done to CSBS, Cliffe, BBS, Pheonix, Newick, Barcombe, Rotherfield, Marks Cross, Eastbourne etc etc, the Police, the First Aiders, the Catering, the public.... You get my drift.
