If you find one please can you let me know as I maybe interested in joining as well. Have you thought about setting one up yourself?
Many moons ago I started a Book Club in Brighton and it was quite successful with 7 - 8 members. Although if I remember rightly getting beyond the coffee stage can be fairly tricky.
It depends on what sort of books you like?

okay, so call me daft ! But how do book clubs work? Do you all sit round reading out loud, or silently individually read, or merely discuss/dissect the plot ? Any of those, I don't really "get" I read a lot and enjoy a good book, but in conversation only merely mention that I'm reading a good book at the moment, I may recommend it, but no further than that.

I think it would depend on the sort of group you join.
For example I'm interested in illustrative books pre 1950's.
Clare Leighton, Eric Gill, Lynd Ward, Frans Masereel etc..
I'm particularly interested in Wordless Novels with woodcut graphic design.
Some people might have a sole interest in Book Publishers like the Golden Cockerel or the Nonesuch Press and so on..
It all depends on which sort of books you are interested in and why your interested in them.
To cater for everyones interests, maybe they run best if book clubs kept quite small.

Found it quite hard to find a book group in Lewes but there are several organised through the library. We recently took on some new members, but are now full, but the library does match people with groups when it can.
