I've lived in Lewes for over 30 years and like the tradition of Bonfire but this year was HELL. It now seems to be only about who can let off the loudest bombs! Animals and young children are terrified. I have neighbours from hell who torment me with bangers & use Nov 5 as "open season".PLEASE Bonfire Boys not so many bombs! Consider EVERYONE who lives in Lewes!

Join a Nonfire society and spend the evening under the town in the secret tunnels. There's always room and the people are friendly. Caution, there may be mice www.lewes-nonfire.co.uk

This is Lewes. On Nov. 5th about three times the population visit the town for pleasure.
Either participate and enjoy: or stay the night with friends elsewhere. Or book a break at Butlins or similar (cheap at this time of year) and make up your mind to enjoy yourself.

I agree... Far too loud. Pity we residents who like to get an early night, even on the 5th
