Hi. My names Emily Ibbitson, i grew up in Lewes and am now studying film production at the University of Westminster in London. Me and a small crew of filmakers are hoping to make a doccumentary about Lewes bonfire night and what it means to local people. If anyone would like to share their thoughts or stories, or if you are a member of one of the bonfire societies or know anyone who is we would be very interested to hear from you. We want to make this a film about local people and why bonfire night means so much to you. My email address is [email protected] and my phone number is 0773 130 6818. Thanks

Do they close the pubs for the celebrations? My new place is on the high street with great views, any one fancy marketing some tickets for me!

Theres a difference between Covering it, and the active participation of a society .SL, your correct in what you say about Edmunds, i dont know how much help he got? Raziel, Guy Fawkes wanted to blow up Royalty as well!!! The politically correct and religious/political activists have set their sights on Lewes bonfire, and will no doubt be aided by friends in the media, im sure Lewes will give as good as it gets!

from previous years i recall all the pubs in lewes being open. but some pubs you need a ticket to get into them. may seem like day light robbery being charged to enter a pub but it saves being crushed at the bar and waiting a few hours to get served...

I rember the days when it was a dry town on bonfire night.
It was really good in the days of Bill penfold and the like.Trouble is the youth of today have spoilt it.

You should just come down to Cliffe on a Saturday morning and ask the locals?
