Best Bonfire night for years - actually since my children lived here in 70's and 80's. Last year I had to miss it because my grandchildren were frightened by the loud bangs and the crowds. This year, plenty of space and few very loud rookies or deer-scarers.
It was a shame that Commercial Square had to spoil the processions by throwing some and then boo the police who tried to stop them.
Fireworks were magnificent - they get better every year - and the processions too.

Barbara , you may have missed the many warnings, but the bonfire council advises the public not to attend with young children, precisely because the nature of the event is loud and can be dangerous. It's not a local authority display.
Re Commercial Square - the police were hemming in some of the marchers at the back of the procession, who objected to being made to feel like criminals for carrying on a centuries-old tradition through the streets of the town they live in. I'm sure the police can take the booing.
