I was walking my dog between the ouse and the A27 when I thought I saw a big cat, the size of an alsation dog, it was black with green eyes. It stared straight at me and ran away. Has anyone else in ther area reported such a sighting?

my wife and 15 year old son were walking our Labrador up beachwood lane in cooksbridge last year, our lab froze in its tracks and my wife says she saw a very large black cat strolling along the edge of the field. she said it was bigger than our lab and had a very long tail, it glanced over to them and then disappeared into the trees.

Is it a Lewes Puma ?? Brilliant - that could be a hidden gem of the district... How long before the Sussex Express pick up on this story?

Too many claimed sightings of "big cats" to be ignored
Got no doubt there's a few roaming around the Downs

There's a sign in Barcombe's shop window asking if anyone's seen a big cat in the area. There are quite a few people convinced there's a puma on the loose in Sussex and even a website detailing the sightings... so, you never know.

There has been sightings in Kingston and a photograph a local took looks very convincing. We've seen what look likes big cat paw prints when we've been out walking.

Me and my girlfriend saw exactly the same thing when walking over the downs, a few fields away from Mount Caburn. There is a website called www.sussexbigcatwatch.org.uk which has many listed sightings on it.
