Planning a move to Winterbourne area and be interested to know what people consider to be the best broadband provider in Lewes?
And whether folk have any particular opinions about this area of Lewes? I am sure you all do....

I am with the much maligned talk talk. For me they have been excellent but I know a lot of people have had problems with them. I used to live in winterbourne / barons down and a very nice area it was too.

I am up the Nevill and am also with Talk Talk. I went with them because they were at the time the cheapest. My friend who lives in Landport constantly has issues.
I have never experienced a problem...Yet.
Costs around £22.00 a month with free local calls all day and free national and 0845s evenings and weekends. And I get a 20mg per month download limit.
They probaly have an offer on at the moment as most of the providers do...Half price for 6 months...
If you go on the Talk Talk website i think you can put your postcode in and get some idea if your new address will get a good signal or not.

I'm with Sky BB, and the speed is ok. Costs £7 or something a month with free after 7pm and all weekend calls.
T-Mobile/EE are offering BB for £5 a month for their customers.
BT are currently upgrading the lines to fibre optic - they have already installed new junction boxes around Lewes. Might be worth using a dongle for a couple of months, then signing up to something decent later.

Agree with 'yawn'. I live in Winterbourne and have just switched to 'be there' after months of problems with Orange. Changeover very easy and got it for £8.50 month for one year then £17 after that. Check their website for deals.

The deal I have with TalkTalk is £114 up front annual payment, then just £4.50 a month. This includes BB, eve/W.end calls AND LINE RENTAL. YES< LINE RENTAL INCLUDED. This equates to £14 a month all in. Never had a problem in 3 years. Beat that!!

Mine is just £7 something a month, and NO line rental. Sounds likes the best deal ever, I reckon. If you're with Sky, it pays to haggle!

Line rental alone is nearly £9 with discount a month so how are you getting that and calls, broadband etc for £7?

Because I haggled. I had Sky+ installed and argued about their charging policy for HD channels, and they give me free line rental to shut me up :-)

I was looking into upgrading my line recently and BT Infinity is now available across most of Lewes. It's not cheap so I'm going to wait for them to open up the architecture to other companies whih should bring the price down. Runs at a fair old speed though, average Infinity speed in Lewes was clocked at 67mbps last time I checked.
I'm currently with Sky and we get decent connection speed, around 7mbps most of the time for downloads and much faster in the middle of the night. We've had a few signal drop-outs recently but that could be our cats playing with the wires on the router and having unlimited bandwidth is certainly a godsend as I'd probably hit most capped limits in the first week of any given month.
