Can anyone attend the bonfire celebration on Saturday night or is it a ticketed event, on the Lewes bonfire celebrations website it says 'Invite only'??

As a Barcombe Bonfire member, I'll try to clarify next year re.: "invitation only" is for societies only.
Being the last weekend of the season, and so close to Lewes, we have to vaguely limit numbers otherwise it becomes unmanageable leading to logistic (i.e. torches!), marshalling & insurance hassles.
Mr. & Mrs. Joe Public always welcome; parking by Barcombe Mills & walking up is always the best option.
lewes resident & Guy knives: shame you don't share our feelings but that's your right. It IS a celebration, but it is also a commemoration of religious freedom, along with a reminder of the sacrifice of our fallen. Remembrance Day is 11th November - should we stop the minute's silence, Last Post & lighting the poppy as that was 12 days prior to our village's Bonfire Night..?
