BT Vision - any good?

Is anyone using BT Vision for their TV and broadband? If so, what are your thoughts on it's reliability in Lewes? I've tried watching iPlayer online, with varying degrees of success, depending on how well the BT internet is behaving that day. FYI we can't have a Sky or FreeSat satellite dish on our house, and as far as I know there is no cable supplier either. Any help or advice appreciated.

Ah, hit a snag already. Just noticed BT site says "To get the Freeview channels, you'll also need to be in a Freeview reception area..." Poo.
Any helpful suggestions on getting more than 4 channels without having a dish (or moving house!)?

Try tvcatchup.com, it's free, you register and that's it.

Depending on where you live in Lewes it is possible to receive Freeview. If you live up high up, such as on Nevill like me, or even over Malling, and your aerial points towards the Heathfield main transmitter then you can get an excellent digital signal. Down in the town though you have no chance, and the local transmitter for Lewes isn't due to be upgraded to digital until sometime next year I believe.

Aye, we're down in town, so it's back to iPlayer etc.
Thanks for the tvcatchup tip Jonnyboy, I'll look into that.

A mate on mine has got BT broadband. When I saw him the other day it was slower than my old dial-up used to be. And that's saying something. Sad thing is he was so used to it he didn't notice.

As a follow on to that then (and apologies if this is a well-trodden thread) what do users recommend as the fastest/most reliable broadband provider in Lewes?
(We're currently on flaky-as-hell BT Openzone)

I'm on TalkTalk. Seems reliable enough and fast enough for me. There was some fun and games getting it set up with them though. It took several phone calls to actually get what I was paying for. But since I got it it's been faultless.

Www.bethere.co.uk. They have a switch in Lewes exchange (Google LLU) so can offer very fast broadband. In Lewes it makes no sense to go with anyone else. Very good service and low prices too. BTW. My experience with Talk Talk (Opal) has been dire and I would't touch them with a barge pole.

Talk talk - very good, very fast speed. A little problematic setting it up - took 2 weeks, but no problems in 18 months.
