One can clearly see Priory Crescent and there is even one of the 'falling stars'
heading towards the roof of my house.
Guess who is stuck with 6.5Mbps ADSL then.....

Unlucky Buzz. Bath checks our BT BB every month and tells me it averages 15.5MB Down and 1.00MB up (oooer Mrs!) He's a tad A@al like that I'm afraid. Bath gave a call to BT last week who told him that BT Infinity is almost here! The Exchange has been activated/upgraded/enabled (or whatever the correct term is) They are "just finishing off" the street cabinets and then it's all systems go for the end of the month, hooray! I'll be able to take a peek at the Mail's Showbiz pages in double quick time, and er work from home more effectively.

WoB, some in Lewes have Infinity already - I'm told that the cabinet in DeMontfort is live. There is a new cabinet just outside Priory Crescent but I have yet to find out if there is anything in it. Your news that BT will be done by the end of the month (Sept or Oct?) is heartening.

@Buzz. Bath was told end of September. There is now a new shiny box at the end of our road (Nr Old Grammar School in the High St.) It's got a million wires in it as a nice young man in Hi-Viz has been sweating over it for the last few days!. Here's hoping.
The Local BT call centre (Mumbai?) have promised to email Bath when it's time to order. We'll see.

My broadband is supplied by the Utility Warehouse, although I think they subcontract the service from another company. Their website is projecting fibre optic b/b being available at the end of October for my immediate area, which suggests that you don't have to sign up with BT to get the benefit. I don't know whether that's because there's a short time lag in other suppliers getting access to the cabling or because this immediate area is getting it later. That said, I get around 10mb download speeds generally which is 2mb more than I pay for, so I'm not complaining!

We have it in St John Street.
Beware BT Infinity though. If you want superfast broadband for filesharing, then you should know that they throttle the filesharing networks, allocating a mere 0.5GB to it.
The best ISP in this area for speed is BE Broadband. I regularly get 15-16MB from my 24MB line.
