I find it a bit dangerous, very crowded and idiots throwing bangers into the crowd.
Apart from that it's lovely spectacle, especailly if they blow up someone you don't like.

The idoits throwing bangers into the crowd DO NOT belong to bonfire societies!!!! if they did they would be expelled rather rapidly.

Yep I love bonfire but my dogs do not - so they go on "holiday" for a few days. However its the blighters who decide to use fireworks past Nov 6th and well before the event who give it a bad name to pet owners. If you have kids PLEASE confiscate fireworks before and after bonfire, if you knew the stress endured by pets and their owners you would be sympathetic. Thanks.

Gotta say I love Lewes bonfire. Recently attended the Leicester Diwali and they had fireworks at the end of it. Pretty impressive too... but nothing compared to our beloved Lewes celebrations.

I love it, the chance to put on my fancy dress trousers and walk around the town with a flaming torch can't be beat. And is alot safer than being on the pavements.
Its fun and certainly builds a community I am not sure where Lewes would be without it.
I like the fact they are ressurecting southover, as i think we need a good mix of the small and large Bonfire societies. It is a worry as Societies like the Cliffe get so big that it may all eventually become some horrible corporate sponsered event.
