'One senior Tory recently lamented to me: “David is completely in the grip of Lynton.” There is a growing volume of discontent from Tories about the “Crosbyisation” of their party and the way they are conducting their campaign. One complaint is that their robotically repetitive and narrowly negative messages are not offering voters any attractive reasons to shift into the blue column. What bothers them even more is that it is not working even in its own terms. They wait in vain for the fabled “cross-over” moment...'

What nonsense. They're doing fine. They have just announced another tax break aimed squarely at the wealthy. Inheritance Tax.

David Cameron's election strategist owns and runs an offshore company in Malta, it has been claimed. The link between Lynton Crosby and the tax haven could make uncomfortable reading for the prime minister, who has described legal ploys to avoid tax as morally wrong.
The Daily Mirror reported that Crosby's Maltese firm, Rutland Ltd, was run from the offices of a trust firm specialising in "wealth preservation".
A spokesman for Crosby's UK firm, CTF Partners, confirmed that Crosby, an Australian who lives in the UK, was a non-domicile – "non-dom"

You talk about a negative campaign. If you listen to the picture of Britain being painted by the parties from the left and especially the Labour party you could be forgiven for thinking that this was a third world country.
If the Tories do what they propose to do with inheritance tax then the kind of rich people that irritate you Mark will still be paying. Face it, this is a great policy that will help millions of low to middle earners.

Was it the sun? For some reason the election seemed a lot less important than getting my garden in shape today.
Given the polls, party promises are not binding and anyway none of it is real. The Labour Party left a £70 billion un-costed hole, the Conservatives had vaguely plausible plans but joined the dream world this week. The Liberal Party, sitting on a non-existent fence, are perhaps, are the most ridiculous, with the obvious exception of the Green Party.
Then there are the candidates. Alf (the sacred river ran ), all partisanship aside, just isn`t credible. Lloyd Russell-Wierd -Moyle can`t see a normal life with a telescope, and I don`t entirely get Maria Caulfield either. Baker we know, but five more years of pious waffle, hardly gets the pulse racing .
Perhaps its just me but I see little an ordinary Lewes family can relate to in any of them.
