I've just seen a poster that is talking about trying to save this building rather than it be turned into a small development of houses. It is the old police mechanics on spital road at the top of the town. This really seems like resisting change for the sake of it. Whatever they put in there has got to be an improvement on the existing building which is just a blot on the landscape, most particularly when seen from Prince Edwards road. I realise there will be issues with parking for the new houses which must be addressed but retaining the existing building is laughable.

Have you turned into a decaying building and now fear demolition?

Resisting change like that certainly smacks of far right extremism at it's most virulent. Perhaps the Asov Battalion have set up sleeper cells in Transition Town. Where did you see this vile poster and did it have any suspect symbols or insignia on it?

There was a picture of Rick Astley on it which I would classify as a suspect symbol. It was in the upholsterers near to the building but walking by it this morning I see that it has now gone. Not sure if I should count this as a massive victory for my campaign or testament to the fact that I I've been mugged.

One possibility is that the poster was blank and you imagined the face of Rick Astley and the attached verbiage. If you replace poster with cloud and reference your "characteristics of a conspiracy theorist" previously posted, you have been hoisted with your own petard, not mugged. Another possibility is that the poster was a joke. In which case it's a shame that it's gone because it was a good one and we all need a good laugh.

Yes it was the police garage, it was also their clothing store, including a small seamstress facility. Prior to that it was a car dealership. Mansfields who until the early 70's were a major Vauxhall dealer in the town. They also had branches throughout sussed. Prior to the building of the garage the site was "Astley House" a large property with both grounds and a horse racing yard, just one of many in the area, 2 in Demontfort Road one in Leicester Road and a couple behind the prison.
