Bit dismayed over the massively overbright floodlights newly installed outside Ask on the High Street. They shine upwards reflecting dazzling light all around the entire area, talk about light pollution. I spoke to the build manager and he turned them off then made a call to confirm they’d be switched off when the restaurant closes each evening. I’m going to petition that they use lower watt bulbs all the same.

Leave them on, it will help the CCTV highlight and identify individuals involved in any crime in the High St overnight.

There’s always that. Bonfire night atmosphere will be ruined unless Ask issue sunglasses for everyone standing across the road from there, and a few dozen pairs for all the residents having to look at the nuclear blast coming through their curtains.

Good for you Bedazzled- let’s admire the night sky in all its glory. Who needs a Donald Trump coloured sky? No one likes to have to shelter behind blackout blinds

Thanks Stevie. When I have a moan I’m more of a taking action type than some on here who just sneer at people like that and continue doing nothing.

Light pollution is the bane of modern life. i feel sorry for people living nearby.
Also Lewes high Street comes in to its own at night. It's beautiful and atmospheric. And doesn't needed a chain restaurant like Ask screaming its presence. I think this is a Council matter - but don't hold you breath that they'll answer the phone!

It's a listed building. If they haven't got listed building consent the council's planning department should make them remove them.

Do they publish a phone number any more? Last time I went to their web site it was automated and if you couldn't find what you were after, well tough!
A ruse invented probably because hardly anyone works there any more.
