Argos building

Does anyone else think that the Argos building is an eye-soar and completely out of place compared to the picturesque and historic surroundings of the Cliffe bridge area. Does anyone know when this building was built? I know that this area was once an island and there was a pub called the Bear around the same position as the Argos building. I suggest we petition to demolish Argos and give the JHT a riverside beer garden.

The JHT already has a riverside garden, it's the Argos car park!

I'm with you on this Pete. My only fear is that Bills will take over any nearby space.

The answer is Fen Shui.
By creating a more pleasing atmosphere, feng shui could be used to improve consumer communications, restoring employee cooperation, and increasing the store's sales.
I suggest that any sharp, jutting angles be softened by placing plants or statues in front. The riverside location provides an excellent amount of yin so some masculine yang elements are definately required.
Exterior lamp posts and inside decorations might need balancing to generate a harmonious energy.
Trees, a shrubbery or hanging plants could be used to eliminate or slow down negative energy (such that experienced from Bill's).
And, although there is an artificial owl on the roof of the building, a weathervane might help, or the creation of an eternal flame.

surely Bill has a shrubbery of his own, how does this explain his negative energy? Perhaps a rockery and some flowing fresh water waterfalls would help (the Ouse being tidal hence saline) - can Koi contribute positively in a feng shui model?
and me - it is hear hear, you were right the first time

If I moor nearby, I can provide the "yang".

its been there for along time, and it wasnt a pub, it was a hotel burnt down in 1918 and the island you refer was further down towards the boat club.
