Found it a very interesting situation today,
I went to Argos to pick up a hoover and it was out of stock,
I requested to see the stock manager as this isn't the first time
This was not going to be a malicious attack just preffered to speak to the person in charge.
I had reserved this item before hand.
I was told by the polite Christmas temp that the stock manager wasn't in today.
When I inquired why, I was told she was unable to make it in due to the snow.
I was then told by the store manager that he made it in from Brighton
And the duty manager made it in from Eastbourne
As well as many of the staff on duty making it in from areas around Lewes.
I asked polite where the stock manager lived for reference and was told Lewes.
Now especially so close to christmas surely the would want to be boosting sales and have management on site as much as possible.
Tomorrow I will be off to brighton to find my hoover!

Tesco sell vacuum cleaners, and I think Homebase does too. Why not buy from there and save yourself a trip.

It wouldn't do any harm Peeved Off if you wrote a note to Argos HQ saying what you said in your post.

The best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned is a Samsung (purchased mine from Argos) and it knocks the socks off my old Hoover, Electrolux and Dyson.

I have often reserved items online to be picked up in the Lewes Argos and have always found them to be there.
A word of warning to anyone buying anything from Argos though.
Check that the contents are what they should be.
I ordered a shower unit and when I got home, half of it was missing.
I had to go back and they checked all the stock, and they were all the same.
Took a while to sort it out.
Seeing as it is Christmas and you may give the items as presents....
Check your box!!

Why not try John Lewis for online goods - we have ordered a fridge and a dishwasher from them recently - they deliver on the day convenient to you, within about a week of ordering and general excellent service. And their prices compare really well with other high street stores.

They have a permanent 3-for-2 offer on the cartridges for our water filter in Argos. Oddly, they only ever have 2 in stock.
