I have just been reading a book by Roald Dahl called Boy tales of childhood. In it he describes a sadistic caning his best friend received from the headmaster at Repton. Apparently He received ten strokes of the cane and between each one the headmaster stopped to fill his pipe and preach to him the rights and wrong of lying which my friend denied doing. After the caning he was given a bowl and wet sponge to clean the blood of his buttocks. Now comes the crunch, the headmaster went on to become the Bishop of Chester, from then he was promoted to the Bishop of London and finally he became The Archbishop of Cantenbury. Not long after he had the task of crowning in Westminster Abbey our present Queen. Strange world eh!

It's not religion that is at fault, but some of the people who aspire to have influence in it. Clearly the man was no Christian.
