I messaged their website twice 2 months ago. No response. I emailed. No response. My mother was told someone would phone her. No one did.
We have a query regarding a family grave in Lewes Cemetery. Cannot get any response from the council.
Any suggestions?

Get on facebook or twitter and directly ask Maria Caulfield why there is no assistance available at the council for people in your position? Keep at it regularly until she does something about it. Don't like that it works but it does.

Use the online complaints process. It's often the only way of getting anyone to deal with anything.
If you're trying to find details of a particular plot, there are online "find a grave" sites.
Lewes DC wqas never brilliant, since the merger with Eastbourne it's become almost laughably bad.

All sorted. Contacted via Facebook (which I had to set up especially as I don't use Facebook). Call almost immediately from lovely lady in Cemetery team. She apologised for the fact my query had not been passed on to them.
I guess social media is the way forward unfortunately.

Have had dealings with both district and town councils of late. With the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing, you can at least get consistency with the level of service provided.
The district council seem to have adopted a bunker mentality, thinking if they do not answer the phone or respond to e mails any problems will go away.
