Some of my family were evacuated to Lewes 1939/40? from London as children. They were brothers & sisters...Irene (Rene), Maureen, Billy & Danny Murphy aged from 4yr to about 9yrs when they arrived. They were billeted seperately with the boys in one home & the two girls in another. Do any of you Lewisians or your family members remember any of these children or maybe the places where they lived in Lewes?

I think I know the kids you mean. Could it be my friend Maureen Watson ( sadly deceased). Rene went back to London but I don't know what happened to the boys.
I don't feel like putting Maureens business on this site so is there a way you could send me your e-mail and I could maybe fill you in.

Please e-mail any info or recollections to - [email protected]
Does anyone remember anything about Billy & Danny? Maybe someone even came down from London at the same time with them & remembers what it was like.
Many thanks x
