If you're not in a rush the animal rescue places will be overflowing with them in March/April

Thanks everyone for the info. I have looked in these places but we specifically want kittens so my two kids can watch and help them grow up to cats! My friend ( on the iow) had 2 kittens dumped on her doorstep. I know this can be a real problem esp. In spring. If anyone hears of anything.... I am a very experienced cat owner.

Having them dumped on your doorstep would avoid having to pay for said kittens. But please consider what a rescue organisation will cover in your 'donation' (i.e. purchase price) - vet checks, neutering, first vaccination, flea treatment, micro-chipping, one month's insurance, starter pack of food. Certainly Battersea (from whom I've re-homed various dogs and cats, including a kitten) provides all this.
Good luck in your quest.
