Tom's ‚??Northern swing fiddle‚?? combines Scots/Donegal styles, with Newcastle hornpipes a speciality. He has a lovely flowing style, beautiful tone & faultless technique, & is a also a fine singer with a powerful yet mellow voice. He has played with Bob Fox, Kieran Halpin, his own band Dabhand, Alistair Anderson‚??s Syncopace, Phil Cunningham, Barbara Dixon, Chris Newman & Pauline Cato. He's an inspiration for the new generation of musicians including Seth Lakeman & Kate Rusby.
Tom writes, 'The workshop will show you how to play simple tunes making them lively and danceable. To leave out the fiddly bits till later ! Everyone has a "fiddle voice " and I'll show you how to find it on your fiddle and bow.' Music will be sent out in advance.

There's just one place left for the workshop - if you can use it, please bring cash on the day. There are still tickets available for Tom and David's evening performance at the Lewes Saturday Folk Club in the Elly; everyone's welcome, especially if you'd like to sing or play.
