Can anybody help. I'm looking for examples of poor quality care provided by private companies based in or around Lewes. I already have in excess of 20 such instances but would like a wider sample base and if possible even more varied items. Accidents (actual and just prevented) mistreatment lateness medication mistakes anything that falls short of acceptable. Thanks

Why not focus on the positives instead?

If you provide your email address others might be more willing to share their experiences, rather than publicly. I know I would.

Sleeveless, its simple we have no positives to report I am however in the middle of preparing a very large case against ESCC and the providers that placed my father in at very serious risk of injury and harm. I'm following the suggestion of the CQC. If you have any information that may be of benefit particularly in me being able to prevent other elderly at risks adults in our area being at risk I would be delighted to hear it.

It's a very sad state of affairs when one has to rely on a faceless council to care for our elderly parents. Especially, when we know they can't even collect our rubbish reliably.

It's all too easy to attack the council and the agencies they commission. While there are certainly examples of poor quality which can't be tolerated there are 1000's of taxpayers who receive superb care on a daily basis without which they'd be isolated and at significant risk. Rather than trying to identify poor care maybe focus on why social care, NHS and other public services have been ruthlessly strangled by successive governments and therefore the electorate. You get what you (don't want to) pay for.

Four years ago, it was a hell-hole.
Really hope it has improved.

The council can't offer a good service due to budget cuts and being underfunded - lets sue the council so I can get a bit of money
Great idea....

Tipex - perhaps you would have a different view if it was your father the carers forgot to visit, forgot to administer drugs to, administered the incorrect drugs to, left carving knives pointing upwards in the drainer by the sink do you want the whole list or do you get the idea. The service at £120 a week for 1 hour a day (2 visits) is overpriced and substandard. I'd like to be able to praise the service but the fact is it is endangering the most vulnerable in society and whilst you may want to preach a positive approach I'd prefer to keep people alive and safe in their own homes thankyou very much.
