On what planet does someone think it's okay to play a drum kit in a flat at 10.00 in the evening (or any time of day) with the window open. I can hear it through double glazing a road away. I feel sorry for his neighbours.

My neighbour rang my doorbell at 3am the other day, lucky I was up playing my drums or I wouldn't of heard him.

Lewes is the new scene where all hipsters now go too. A sign of the times that Lewes is becoming trendy and arty folks from London now want to live here, drummers and musical folk included. If you want to keep the old ways I suggest you move out to the Isle of Wight, change is in hand for Lewes and we must all adapt to keep up with the times. Keep on to your houses though as prices are steadily going up and up! Life in Lewes is good and 'things can only get better'

Night hours are 11.00 pm until 7.00 am. To reduce noise nuisance from houses and premises, the law defines a maximum amount of noise which is acceptable during night hours.
When noise exceeds the permitted level, the district council can investigate and take action against the neighbour or other noise source.
