Does anyone know which company/organisation will be operating the new service station on the A27 (W) between Kingston and Falmer?

Doesn't matter. The place is well known for selling water contaminated petrol over the years so my advice is to steer well clear

I worked there for many years before it closed and never did I have anyone complain of contaminated petrol. Had plenty using unleaded when they should have used leaded when u/l was first available (at one pump only) also lots of diesel / petrol mix ups, twats putting oil in their radiators or water in their oil, but never contaminated fuel.
It closed when one of the storage tanks split and fuel contaminated the winterbourne, so maybe it went both ways at the very end?
Also, since the rebuild circa 1980 ish it was a filling station by name and nature not a service station. It would be my guess that this will still be the case when it reopens.

Robert you do seem to have a bit of a downer on most things at the moment...
Although "a bit of a downer" could be an understatement

How a place that shut around 20 years ago can have a reputation that affects a totally new business is totally beyond me, especially when most of the uniformed that post on here where born after it shut or at least their mental ages do not extend to when it traded. And thats a fact

It closed in 2006 I think - definitely not 20 years ago. I agree with he sentiment though, what the service was like in the past has nothing to do with the new petrol station!

My car literally died after filling 20 pounds of unleaded..!! Just a mile after the station. I thought I was going to spend the night there. Anyone with a similar experience?
