And I'm coming back to Lewes form Brighton in about 30 minutes and can't decide whether to use Ditchling Beacon or the A27. :-(

The roadworks vanished last night - no problems on the A27 - used it twice today.

Hmm, yes. Today I have been to Lewes, Chailey, back to Lewes, Firle, and opposite ends of Seaford. I should have gone to Peacehaven as well, but they cancelled.
How would I have fitted all that in (each visit outside of Lewes was of 1-1.5 hours duration) if I had walked or gone by bus? I think if you go to Chailey on the bus in the morning, you can't come back till lunchtime.
Arthritis in hips, spine and knees prevents me from cycling, I'm afraid.
